Panheads Forever

I've always dreamed of owning a Panhead, but once I owned one and expierenced the panhead I realized my dream wasnt to own one it was to ride one, and figure out every little thing I can about it.
Close to 2 years ago I bought this 1951 Panhead, it was very kool and very long, everything 70's choppers were.  I had a lot of fun and took a few road trips.  On my way to kentucky last year the motor locked up on me, luckily I killed it before I threw a rod and destroyed the cases (talk about great timing).  While it was tore down I seen a bike Love Cycles was building and it looked sweet, so Dave-o talked me into building it.  We had the frame and everything else we built.  Its taken me about a year to build the motor, build the bike, and finish everything.  Finances and time are your biggest enemies not to mention trying to build the motor back to 74 cubic inches.  I will never forget the night, that I was line lapping aka line boring the cases, sweating my ass off, woundering in my head how I was gonna pay for a few parts cause bills were do, and knowing Dave-o and Tam were drinking ice cold beer watching me work my ass off.  I knew at that time that holy fuck these old bikes are great, even tho they take twice the work of a twin cam, cost three times as much, and are no where near the amount of performance of a new bike, and ruined relationships with girls, but damnit I LOVE IT.
Well I'm somewhat done with the Panhead, I have my original tins that i made getting painted still besides that all is done.  I have to thank Scotty, Smitty, Papaw, Maddog, and Dozer for your countless advice and alot of bashing about how my Panhead is the slowest of the group.  Kyle for his welding skillz and hatred for sissy bars. Tam for your countless meals, and helping out as much as possible.  Dave-o for always making sure I had locktite and telling me how to build the motor, and the kick in the ass when I needed it.

A Little More

I got my Super B mounted up and air cleaner all fabed to fit the S&S.
Dave-o did some work to his Knuckle that he is drooling to have done, this is no where close to being done.

A Night At The Track

Saturday they had dirt track racing about an hour and a half away so i made the stroll after work and boy am I glad I did.  Awesome is all I can say and my pics do it no justice.

Yes the guy in green has one arm, and he was giving the other guys hell on the track, pretty impressive I must say.
 Saw this awesome BSA
These 2 youngsters were talking and I just thought they were pretty rad, little did I know that in a short 5 minutes they would be hauling ass around the track.

Vintage race suits were awesome too.
The most impressive guy of the night was this 4 year old boy, yes 4 year old.  He even took the checkered flag and raised his left hand like yes I'm the man.

Issue Release Party

Showclass issue 8 and the Born free special issue are about to hit greasy hands or tattoo shop counters and maybe the occassional OBGYN office.  Well some good friends of ours in Jville expressed to us everytime we see them how much they fucking love Showclass and that its awesome and they want to meet Tim and Matt and fantasize over Billy taking their photo one day.  The AFMC guys have been a staple in this town for riding some kool ass chops around.  Well we brouhgt up the idea of a issue release party to Tim and the Armed Forces Club of America and they both said fuck yeah.  Tim is working on a flyer that will be rad, but because of short notice I am putting the word out.  Tell your friends, tell your mom, ride your bike and come support Showclass cause they support dirty grease bags like us and our bikes.

More Progress

Nice Day In The Shop

We had some beautiful weather in Jville yesterday so we were able to get out in the shop and work.
Dave-o and Tam trying to figure out technology or they are App shopping.
Dave-o worked on ordans transmission which just pissed him off.
I ran all my brake lines for the Panhead.
The break light switch recall by HD.  These were shit on the baggers but work great on everything else.
Bolted my seat all down and the fender on the sissy bar.
Gator hooked me up up with this sweet intake manifold.
I was trying to settle this delimma I had on which tail light to run, so I sent out a text to some of my peers.
The Iron Cross won so I went with it.

I never have claimed to be great with the camera I just enjoy taking pictures and capturing the moment.  But I just learned how to take Black and White pictures with my camera so you may see alot of these.

A Yellow Submarine

So right now in eastern NC it's really hard to get motivated to work in the shop cause its like an oven in there.  We dont A/C in the shop just a few fans so life is miserable in there in the daytime.  So about 9 o'clock last night I got motivated to work, so I went out and ended up making a new rear fender cause I'm so close to being done and still waiting on my paint.
Looks good to finally see my queen seat that made on their.
I will paint the fender black or something so it dont look so crazy.
